Hello Donner Party Mountain Runners!
At the demand/request of our running community, I’ve created a 90 day workshop focused on developing fitness and strength and mobility and skills to get everyone bombproof for the summer/fall distance running season. NOW is the time to build the foundation, so we start running on a stable platform and can really ramp up the mileage and intensity come summer/fall.
I’ll be offering small-group sessions at Performance Training Center by Julia Mancuso starting on March 7th, continuing through June 1st (however, please note : once we learn the programming, you guys and girls will be on your own from March 22 to March 30, building your base).
Enrollment is open to everyone (whether you’re a novice runner or a seasoned marathoner), granting you access to the workshop materials and the sessions at PTC. All material will be hosted to athletes on Evernote (www.evernote.com) via a shared file – you’ll be able to access materials/content/etc even if you can’t make every session in person. You can always reference what you’ll be doing in between sessions and link up with your “teammates” on any weeks/sessions that you missed.
Sessions will be held every Tuesday from 10:30 AM to noon and every Thursday from 5:30 PM to 7PM. Each session will be focused on skills acquisition and learning (NOT on hard training). These sessions won’t all be “easy”, but the bulk of the workouts you’ll be building on will be executed on your own or in small groups outside of our sessions. Look at this as a workshop, not a group exercise class.
Each week we’ll be implementing new concepts and building your “homework” programing (you’ll have 2-4 workouts per week that you’ll be doing independently or in a small group, outside of these weekly sessions). Tuesday and Thursday sessions each week will be the same content, and anyone enrolled will be welcome at either/both sessions. My aim, offering a morning session and an afternoon session, is to afford all of you options within your various schedules – if you can only make one per week, you won’t be missing anything at all. Again, the Tuesday/Thursday sessions will be for building knowledge and skills and discussing concepts, NOT for hard training.
This package will be offered at $300/person, limited to the first 16 people signed up. Once signed up, you’ll have access to the workout sessions at Performance, all workouts/content/discussion online, and my support as your coach throughout the process.
If you’re not a member at Performance yet, you’ll need to get a membership there as well (DPMR members receive a special rate of $45/month with an annual commitment, and the gym also offers 3 month memberships for $230 as an option). You’ll need access to the gym to train effectively with these tools, and to train with your teammates.
