On April 8th, 2017 the Tahoe Hotshots are hosting our 3rd Annual Hotshot Half Marathon in honor of firefighter Mike Kelly. All proceeds of the event go directly to the Wildland Firefighter Foundation and local Volunteer Fire Dept’s. The 14.5 mile trail race/fun run meanders through Ponderosa Pines, Doug Firs, and Madrone stands along the Bullards Bar Reservoir trail system. The course is 95% single track as well!
Last year, the event raised over $20,000 with over 310 runners finishing the event. Hot chili will be served at the finish line with lively aid stations and a raucous finish line to pump you up! Free camping and firewood is available at the Hornswoggle and Schoolhouse Campgrounds to all participants. Go to hotshothalf.com for more information
Traveling from Truckee? Take I80 West to the Hwy 20 turnoff. Follow Hwy 20 until you get to Nevada City, where take Hwy 49 towards Downieville/Camptonville. When you get to the Ranger Station on Hwy 49 go Left onto Marysville Rd. Go 5 miles and simply follow the signs and/or noise! Can’t miss it! The drive should take about 1 hr 15 min.
Hope to see you out there!
